is the name scientists have appointed Aromatherapy in recognition of of its importance in natural health and research into the many ways that healing plants can help our lives. Plants have evolved (and are still evolving) to protect themselves against organisms that would want to harm them, this has taken a very long time and underpins their importance to us and the way we live.
Sorry about the picture but it gets across the point, the aromatic properties are inhaled and are shown to not only improve mood but also have decongestant and lymphatic regulators, these small electrical pulses are processed by the olfactory system and tell the brain....its a nice smell.
Of course, this works for bad smells as well as good and our senses are very good at telling us good from bad, a kind of human alarm bell, animals have the same and will be attracted in the same way, often ingesting a plant for its natural medicinal properties.
We are concerned with plants that have healing properties and smell fresh, these are termed aroma-therapeutic on the basis that they contain very little, if any, toxins that might be harmful to us, and animals of course, their immune system is perhaps stronger than ours.
The natural chemcal compounds are complex and marry together to form protective shields against predators and fragrances to attract to assist in the procreation, pollenation and of course planting their seeds. We are naturally interested in helping them achieve this process and the more we help them the more we help both ourselves and our green world.
